✨ What Does It Mean to Be Graciously Defined? ✨
To be Graciously Defined means letting go of the world’s broken way of measuring your worth. It’s choosing to stop defining yourself by labels, struggles, or expectations and instead, grounding your identity in who you are in Christ.
It’s the moment you set down the weight of “not enough” and see yourself clearly, without all the voices that tried to name you. Not as a project to fix, but as someone already met with grace.
Grace doesn’t demand perfection before it welcomes you. It meets you in the mess, the questions, and the unfinished parts of your life and offers rest instead of pressure.
For anyone who has felt like they’re failing at life, this changes everything. The goal is no longer perfection, but honest, meaningful growth. Even the hardest parts of your story can become something full of purpose and hope.
Being Graciously Defined is making peace with who you are. It’s the end of fighting yourself and the beginning of living freely. Unmasked, Accepted, and Whole.
You are not defined by what you do or what you lack, but by the One who created and loves you.
This space follows a simple flow: Survival → Grace → Alignment → Growth.
Reminder:
It doesn’t happen in a straight line. It is a process and that is okay take your time. Grow at your own pace and FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. That is so important. What works for me won’t always work for you and that is okay you can take these tools and resources and make them into your own I am just your guide.
Some days you’re in survival just getting through, doing the best you can with what you have. Other days feel a little lighter. You might go back to grace a lot when things feel overwhelming. You might feel aligned one day and totally off the next. Growth won’t always look obvious; it can be small things like resting instead of pushing, or choosing not to overdo it.
Especially if your brain works in a more flexible or inconsistent way, this process won’t always feel neat or predictable. That doesn’t mean it’s not working. It just means it takes time, and it moves with you. Not against you.
Sometimes you pause. Sometimes you restart. Sometimes you have to slow down again.
Sometimes you find yourself back in survival and need support before anything else. Sometimes God feels near other times He feels far. Those are signals we will start to learn to look for on the way there.
Pst…..That’s normal here.
We come back to grace when we need it, support ourselves through survival when we’re there, try to stay aligned when we can, and trust that growth is happening even when it’s not obvious yet or out of our range of vision. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about staying with yourself while things change not matter how uncomfortable it gets.

Scriptures That Anchor This Blog
These verses have been the foundation of my journey and the heartbeat of this blog:
“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.”
– Luke 11:34-36
From a nervous system perspective this scripture teaches that our eyes (focus) are a primary entry point for what fills our brain and our bodies. If our eyes are “healthy” (clear) are whole body is full of light. Meaning with “light” we are operating as a regulated body, we are moving with clarity and not overwhelm, and our system is interpreting our surrounding environments as safe.
When our eyes are unhealthy we are trying to navigate life in the dark. It is then dysregulated, overstimulated, and focussed on harmful input. Things like Hypervigilance (fight or flight), Shutdown (freeze), Confusion or Chaos. It causes our brain to build an internal state based on what it has experienced or receive and then interprets it. Creating a cycle of dysregulation or fear.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
– Romans 12:2
This scripture teaches us that through God’s grace it is possible for us to unlearn survival patterns and renew our mind. By building ourselves up and growing in spiritual maturity we are able to through love, learn our Fathers ways in order to discern life through a lens that helps us know what is from him and what is not. To then learn what is for us and what is not.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
– 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
This scripture reminds us that God fills the gaps in our weaknesses. AuDHD can often be black or white. I’ve noticed that but it is through intimate connection with our Father that he will take our weaknesses and transform them as we do the work and endure the hardships of life.
Also, through this scripture I have personally learned to accept “I am not enough” not in a shameful way, not in a God doesn’t love me way but through a perspective that says My Father designed me to have weakness in order that those around me could see one day that those same weaknesses are what has been used for the glory of God.
